Further Comments
This is an original 1957 Hult Craft Commander, built by Hult Brothers Boat Works Co. from Nebraska. It has a 45hp McCulloch outboard engine, original lights, rope ladder and bow flag. It sits on a 1966 Homad trailer. This boat was purchased new in the 1950s, and was carefully maintained and garage-kept by the original owner over most of its lifetime. Since its last purchase, the current owner has kept with the tradition and stored this boat in a climate-controlled garage.
This is a rare boat, that was just professionally refinished in 202, The Deck was stripped down to wood, re-stained,15 coats of Epifanes gloss varnish added, sanded with 1500-4000 grit, buffed and re painted deck stripes. The interior is in almost perfect shape, with lay down seats and louvered doors. The motor is a super clean original McCulloch 45 horse outboard two stroke. It was driven last year in the Sandpoint wooden boat show, but sat over the winter for restoration. The carburetor needs cleaned, gone through and tuned . She fires up and runs, but is a little rough. It does run like a champ when properly tuned though. But unfortunately I do not have the time and or knowledge to work on vintage outboards. I am waiting for the sunshine to get better pictures, but if interested please contact me. I have titles
