Further Comments
This is a very nice, old wooden lapstrake boat made by Cruisers, Inc. in Oconto, Wisconsin. According to the BMV this is a 1958 Vacationer Runabout, 16 ft, however further research indicates its possibly Holiday. It comes with a Shorland'r Trail 3 16-17 trailer in great shape. The price for boat, trailer and motor is $1900. The white captains chairs in the back of the boat in the photos below are not included in the sale. The trailer has a great option where it tilts up in the center. It is in good workable and usable condition, but it does need some restoration. It has been stored in a garage the last 10-11 years and recently was put back in the water. The motor is a 35 HP Evinrude Lark with what appears to be the original gas can according to the pictures in the manual which we do have. We replaced the gas line and gaskets on the can. The manual has a date of 12-56 which we are thinking would date the motor to 1956 but we have not checked the serial number. The structure of the boat is quite good. We do not see any particular repairs. There is one small hole about 1 in the top of the back deck in front that literally happened days ago when a small branch fell out of a tree and landed on the deck. The paint on the outside is quite good. There is copper paint on the bottom of the boat. The deck on the top needs restoration and is quite worn. Some of the laminate on the bow and back deck is peeling up on the edges. The mahogany on the sides is in great structural shape but needs to be refinished. The motor works very well and the throttle gears are in good shape. The dash has controls for a speedometer but the speedometer sensor on the back of the boat is not there. Overall this is a great candidtate for full restoration. It is also completely ready to use this summer. We have it in the water now on lake Wawasee in Syracuse Indiana. The boat is registered and titled. Please call Woodie at 317-752-5407 or Kelley at 317-752-1466 with any questions. This Boat has been Sold
