RARE OPPORTUNITY FOR COLLECTOR
Very rare mint 1954 Paceship Acadian from Mahone Bay NS. Molded mahogany strip professionally refinished 2002/2003 (no fiberglass), all orig. collectors boat powered by vintage 1954 Johnson 25 (1 spare motor) more pics avail., serious inquiries/offers only. Day: (613)229-7644, bwebster@stantec.com
Other information:
The motor is a RD16, SN 1135278 (1954) and is not electric start. I have 1 other - a RD 13 that I have not started, but is not seized and was running when I acquired it last year.
The RD16 that I use on the boat is in great condition and a prize candidate to restore to mint (see pic). It has been repainted in the past, and I had planned to restore it but no longer have time. I have the original shop manual (copy) as well as the original decals and gasket set.
The Acadian is near mint, and was painstakingly restored by Millar and Potter in Manotick over the winter of 2002 (over 160 hrs of labour) - no fiberglass was used! The boat was in great shape before the restoration, but needed tlc to make it as nice as it is now. There are no records that I can locate to date it exactly (hull is stamped 800.1314 under the front seat, and the original Acadian sticker is still on the transom) but from the documentation I have uncovered the hull was manufactured between 1949 and 1954 by the Industrial Shipping Co. Ltd. in Mahone Bay, NS. It was originally owned by a DR. Peter MacLauchlan who had the boat rigged and finished at Blair Equipment Ltd. in Ottawa (the original plate is on the deck, just behind the windshield).
