Further Comments
Gorgeous 100-plus year old wood/canvas classic canoe made by the famed Chestnut Canoe Company of New Brunswick, Canada.
Cedar hull covered in canvas, with rich mahogany gunwales and seats.
This boat was built sometime around 1900-1910, and has been in the family for generations.
Always meticulously maintained, always professionally restored with new canvas and woodwork, and always stored indoors all year.
Boat is 18 feet long with a 50-inch beam and is 18" deep at the center. It has a square stern that accommodates a gas or electric motor.
Easily holds 2 adults, three kids, and coolers for a day trip, or easily holds 3-4 adults, two large dogs, and other fishing/camping/hunting gear.
One rowing seat in center with the oars, and two other seats, but room for a portable seat or two as well.
Designed for carrying a large load if needed, and handles big water easily. The boat rows very smoothly, and is fast with one on the oars and two on paddles.
This is one of a pair that I own and use for hunting in Minnesota and Canada on the famed Delta Marsh, big water where motors are not allowed and strong, but light boats like this are used.
This boat has not been used since 2008 when it was last completely stripped down and professionally restored. (Boat and electric motor in picture was in Minnesota on the other boat I am keeping.)
Custom-fit trailer is available as well for an extra $850.
Serious buyers ONLY. Extra photos are available.
